ALL CREATIVE WORK IS AN ACT OF PRESENCE.

I am Jalisa, a documentary wedding photographer who photographs weddings on digital and film. I am a first-generation Filipina-American, classically trained ballerina, and a proud military veteran. I am an artist, a foodie, and a wedding lover.

I create modern, poetic wedding imagery on digital and film for couples who want their legacy to feel alive. I document stories with photographs that carry a heartbeat. That balance presence and polish. That become someone else’s favorite memory of you.

Portraits by Madi Pere.

In a world that romanticizes perfection, choosing presence is the most radical thing you can do.

My work exists to honor that choice — transforming fleeting moments into art with backbone, beauty, and the kind of soul that lasts for generations.

I'm not here to turn your wedding into a production.
I'm here to witness it. To feel it. To make art out of it.

I work with emotionally tuned-in humans who care more about connection than curation — but still want their gallery to look like a dream editorial spread. The kind of people who live in the moment, but also want it preserved with intention — as something to revisit, relive, and one day pass down.

Call it poetic realism. Call it heart-led storytelling.
I call it photography with a backbone.

My Style

Editorial meets instinct. Romantic but grounded. Intuitive but intentional. Present, not performative.
This is art that feels like you — just turned all the way up.

No. o2

My Method

I start with what I observe — the first spark of the story. Your images are crafted from laughter, tears, glances, and touch. All the quiet moments that shape a legacy.
I work in rhythm with you, all day long. Present, attuned, and perfectly in step.

My People

The ones who feel deeply, dress with intention, and care more about presence than perfection. The ones who know that film isn't just an aesthetic - it's memory made tangible. If you love fashion, florals, flash, and that film magic — we’re probably already vibing.

BEHIND
the BRAND

Observer. Artist. Former ballerina hell-bent on photographing your heartbeat.

Long before I became a photographer, I was a ballerina practicing presence. On stage. In quiet rooms.  I learned to listen with my whole body, to move with intention, to honor stillness as its own kind of story. I built this brand on instinct and artistry — not just to capture beauty, but to create legacy.

I’m Jalisa, founder of Jalisa Roslyn Photo — and the intuitive creative just out of frame. I studied classical ballet for 13 years, served in the military, and now I document love stories that hold power, softness, and presence all at once.

I don’t believe in performance. I believe in presence. I believe in giving your wedding space to breathe with moments of stillness infused with energy. And I believe your story deserves to be remembered not just as it looked — but as it felt.

I shoot with an observant eye, a tuned-in heart, and just enough edge to keep things interesting.

QUESTIONNARE

Still here? Perfect. If we're going to work together, we gotta go a little deeper. Here are my answers to the famously big questions, a la Vanity Fair.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I’d stop pretending I'm not a planner. I 1000% am. But I can let go and be present - even if what happens isn't in the masterplan.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?
This. Owning my own business focused on art. I get to create my way, while telling your story your way.

What is your most marked characteristic?
Analytic brain, artistic eye. It's a pretty great combo.

What do you most value in your friends?
Emotional intelligence, wit, can read the damn room, and foodies at heart (it's a requirement, I don't make the rules).

What’s your idea of perfect happiness?
Late night Thai takeout, satin pajamas,  hair washed, skincare done, Netflix on in bed.

What’s your greatest extravagance?
My nugget ice maker has a front seat on my countertop. Cold bevs all day, every day.

On what occasion do you lie?
When I tell you "just one more photo". Every. Single. Time.

Which historical figure do you most identify yourself with?
I’ve been told that I inspired “The Last Great American Dynasty” by Taylor Swift, so take with that what you will.

What do you consider the most overrated virtue?
Humility. You’re allowed to say you’re good at what you do. I'm good at this.

Thank you for capturing it all so perfectly. Can’t wait to look at these forever and ever.
